Art Route

Since the end of last year we have been working on the project entitled Art Route. We have made a 1:10 scale model of a maize field where a route has been constructed. There are hunting lodges at a number of points on this route. If the visitors of the art route look inside the hunting lodges, they will be confronted with the works of art that have been installed there. The intention was that we would use our old paintings on which WE write our statements about the art and life of an artist. Sometimes ironic, sometimes banal, and sometimes serious. The paintings would then only serve as carriers for the texts.

We continued working on this project until February 24, 2022, the day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Suddenly everything turned upside down. We couldn't just continue working as if nothing had happened. Is art still relevant at all? And if so, what art should it be? We have no answers. We can only tell what we feel now.
